Week 11, final presentations, plays, portfolios, etc
This week will be busy; Monday you'll be finishing presentations, and you'll receive your scripts with your roles for the plays you'll be performing. Tuesday we'll go over the Table of Contents for your Portfolios and how they'll be scored (Portfolio Presentations will be on the 6th & 7th of May) . Your final writing assignments will be given and we'll have some fun!
So this week I would like you to assess the blog... At least those of you who have actively particpated. This has been my first semester to use blogging, it came highly recommended by other teachers and in the U.S. all universities use it as a form of assessing student growth.
I believe that in the end, this semester I will be giving Extra Credit points to each of you who have done the work here and for those of you who have blogged every week it will count as your final writing exam.
So please blog about blogging: was it helpful? Do you feel like you got to know your classmates better? Has it helped you to grow in your English skills?
This an excellent tool for comunication, personally, the blogg has helped me to improve a little bit my vocabulary because while I am writing I try to use synonims, instead of use only one word many times. It is also a good way to know my classmates and what they thing about the topics we have discussed here.

DeleteI've never been working with it before. Actually i just started using it a few weeks ago but i think it's very useful and once you learn how to use it, it makes everything easier and you can see what the persons really think.

I agree with you, because if we have actively participated, our skills are going to improve and the communication in our group will be better.

DeleteI had never used this type of tool in some of my classes, so that I found very good form of communication and work, but sometimes do not enter the blog out of habit, but overall very good tool and of course I would recommend.

DeleteI think that it's an excellent idea to improve our english skills. Nowadays we have a lot of IT that makes easier our life and provide us more knowledge. It was so good that we took advantage. It really help me to grow, even though sometimes I didn't write. It is highly recommended to improve any language or to discuss any kind of theme.

DeleteThese tools will certainly help to better know classmates, similarities and differences, personally helped me improve my grammar a bit. Another advantage of the technology.

DeleteI couldn't agree more, I also improve my grammar and my vocabulary, because being honest I don't know all the words everybody uses, so I have to look for the meaning.
DeleteI think it is a good idea to improve our English because the technology can give a lot of advantage like this, maybe I forget to post in it but is because it is new for me and sometimes is complicated to do every week, I think the bolg could be easier if it was in a more famous page like facebook, I think so because the mayority of the people have facebook and check it every day but in conclusion I think it help me to practice my English at the same time that I can know more about my classmates. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm totally agree with you. For our generation, facebook is the most interesting tool. We check it everyday. Maybe in the future, we can do a secret group.

DeletePersonally, the blog helped me to meet my classmates. Many times in classes we dont have the chance to speak and the blog is a great opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI think the same, the blog has let me to know what think our classmates about an specific topic and we have the chance to share our points of viewa and at the same time it let us to know something else about them.
DeleteI think that this way to comunicate and share opinions is very useful, of course. Technology and sharing of points of view are a good complement for learning English better and to know our partners's ideas, about several topics. Bur maybe we needed some conversations else in class too.

DeleteNowadays doing a blog is very helpful with the way we write, because we can see what others think. This class blog is very good for me, in my daily life I can't write or even speak in English, I only use this language in the class room or sometimes with my friends. I know that I need to improve more my grammar and my pronunciation and this blog help me a lot.

DeleteThis is the first time that I use this type of tool, I had never had the opportunity to do it. I think that the blog is a good way to express your ideas and to know more about the opinions of our classmates respect the topics. I like write in the blog but generally I don´t have enough time to access however, I always try to do it.
ReplyDeleteI haven´t use in my classes the blogging but I´m agree with the most of my classmates that is an excellent option to improve our vocabulary and to practice our writing, I think too that we can know what think our other classmates about the topics that we see in classes because sometimes we don´t talk very much in class.
ReplyDeleteNice tools to get a different idea and concept to learn English. I like that we can do differents activities in the classroom. About the portfolio we can express our creativity.
